The Questionable Stakes AAG Card allows a player to wager up to 100,000 points on an unseen category. Once the wager is recorded the player will roll the dice to determine the subject matter or their wager.

If they answer the unseen category correctly they can double their wager amount but if they miss the question, they will lose the amount of their wager.  Depending on a player’s score at a given time in the overall game could weigh heavily on a player’s wager and this card will always be located at the back of the deck in the last twenty cards or so.

Wager wisely!

The Almost Anything Goes P.R. Card makes its way into the game this week. When one draws this card, they will be asked (5) P.R. Questions. If they run the table with correct answers, they will receive 20,000 points per question.

A missed question is not all that bad either as for every correct answer, the player will receive 10,000 points.  There will be (5) questions on each P.R. Card.  Get them ALL right and that means your score will increase by 100,000 points as you then earn the “Doubler”.

Each P.R. Question is based on your knowledge on the history of the Almost Anything Goes game and the players within the game.

How can one get themselves “crowned” with an Almost Anything Goes victory. I asked Sara that very question and she replied that she even tried using Imperial Margarine so that she could gain a crown in the game as she has won but once in just under a year. Yet Sara does employ strategy more than most in The Double-Side Challenge game using her Insurance option only during the third day of that event.

Insurance is a kep component to AAG and just when and how to use it.  Even so, as countless players have experienced, Insurance does NOT guarantee a victory in the game.  Some get Insurance on the last roll of the game.

Yet so many play the game just for fun while for others it is a test of their mettle.  Sara really gets into her game blowing on the dice for luck or going into a deep trance to guess a number that will double or triple her score.  I think she has even consulted Dr. Oz for ways in which to win this game.

Getting into the Winner’s Circle is not only a matter of luck as it is on how to really play this game to the maximum.  Sara does that and eventually it will pay off for her in many more wins.  Maybe even starting with her next game?

Real soup is good for the body while Almost Anything Goes’ Alphabet Soup is good for the brain. whatever letter spills out of the Moderator’s mouth, game players must begin a word with that letter. Sometimes it may involve a name, place, city, or country. It may sound easy enough but some get into the “soup” with a brain freeze at the worst possible moment.

I wonder if Campbell’s would be interested in marketing our soup?  It could be a best “speller”.

Everyone of us is gifted with our “natural” voice as it is what we use every day of our life.  Yet Almost Anything Goes asks a player to provide a voice “over” that of our own.

Yes, it takes a bit of acting skill to accomplish a voice over but within each and every one of us is a “Ham Bone” that is not found in your skeletal make-up. Nevertheless it is there!  And from that “Ham Bone” comes all variations of what I term voice over’s.  Simply stated it is a voice that comes from a player’s vocal cords that is unlike their natural voice.

Just another element of fun from AAG.  So what will “your” voice over sound like today?

Does “Almost Anything Goes” at your eating table? Is it dangerous to sit next to you with knife and fork flashing through the air?  Are you often mistaken for King Henry the 8th using a leg of lamb as your baton? Is your waistline a wasteland?  Do your loved one’s say they’d put their arms around you if they could?  Did you know that the best diet exercise is pushing yourself AWAY from the table faster each time?  And what kinds of foods should you be eating?

One of the biggest problems people seem to be on a weight loss plan is the choice of foods they eat. Not to mention, food choices, they will NOT be allowed to eat.  I really liked the food I eat. I’m quite happy with the food. After all, that’s why I made them a part of my diet at first.  I am certainly not telling anyone to eat this way, and you certainly do not need. I’m just saying that some people simply do not need as much variety in their diet.

Remember, though, the real # 1 key to weight loss diet (or any diet for that matter) is total calories consumed.  Here is a list of acceptable foods diet and healthy:

Zonks, Prizes, and Cash, Oh My!

Here’s how the Dickering Deal works! The player that gets this card must immediately roll the dice and a count off to the left will be made to determine the other player that will be involved in this deal.  A prize will then be awarded to the player who drew this card.  Then the dickering begins as the Moderator will offer that player an envelope.  A choice must be made to keep the prize or the envelope.  Whatever the choice, the other player gets what the first player rejects.

More dickering goes to the second player as they will then be given the choice to accept a second envelope.  The two envelopes may contain cash or Zonks.  Always the contents of the envelopes will remain a secret until the entire dickering deal is resolved.  The Dickering Deal debuts this week!

This week, the Moderator (host) will become an ACTIVE particpant in the game whereas they usually only gain points by serving as the “house” on Blackjack. And, for this game only, Blackjack will not be part of the game.

On any card whose roll dictates a question or song, that will merely be a passed turn for the Moderator.  How will the Moderator fare?  Everyone will find out this Wednesday.

The majority of Almost Anything Goes Game Cards look just like this with the exception of Blackjack, Password, and Hot Cards.  Each card has two ides with completely different options.  In this card, for example, one can double their score, answer a geography question to earn 3000 pts, could lose 5000 times their next roll to the Pot, or answer a TV Trivia question for 2000 times their next roll.

They could also exchange points with any player in the game, unless they had Insurance to protect their score by rolling to the left and then the moderator would count off that number to learn who they would be exchanging points with.  Sometimes that would include whatever is in the Pot.

The last option means that 5000 points can be earned by predicting either an even or odd roll and each time that option is accomplished earns them 5000 points until they miss.  And, this is but one card of 150 each with varying options per card.

Dorothy won the 2nd Double-Side Challenge game rallying with a strong finish having over 3,400,000 points! It was her first win ever and she almost left the third round game when she lost all her points to the Pot. Others encouraged her to stay the course and she doubled the value of the Pot later in the game to claim the victory. She went from 34,000 to 3,352,000 points in one roll proving again that you are NEVER out of this game!

  1. Dorothy  3,458,000

Next to the card that says, “Lose all your points to the Pot”, this is the next most dreaded card in Almost Anything Goes.  Yet, at the same time, it makes the game most interesting and one never knows what kind of a lead is safe with this card in play.

Roll to your left, or right, means that an additional roll is necessary to determine who one will be exchanging points with. Somtimes it’s to a player’s advantage if they have a low score to exchange points.

Strategy has been employed more in the 3 Day Double Side Challenge where Insurance can move from week to week.  Sara was wise to hold onto her Insurnance until late in the game of Day 2 when she had over 400,000 points that would have been at risk had she not played her Insurance Card to ensure that her point total would remain intact.  Yet Rose enters Day 3 on Wednesday with over 2,000,000 points and NO Insurance.  Her wide lead will always be in jepoady until the last card of the game plays out.

Strategy has been a larger factor in this three-day game than a regular one week game.  Still a player needs to think about when they will play their insurance card and when they will not.  Thus, strategy is a factor most definately in Almost Anything Goes.

When I was a young boy, this television game show was hosted by Allen Ludden who was married to the great Betty White. I enjoyed watching the clues being given to the contestants by Ludden with eyebrows raised by what the contestants sometimes said.

And now that eternal game has been incorporated into Almost Anything Goes, and like Hot Cards and Blackjack, it carries its own specific cards throughout te game.   The players that choose this card are given the option of receiving either the first or second clue but wise players usually opt for the second clue giving them the opportunity to guess the word in question faster.

Now this ancient game has added great depth to Almost Anything Goes and has added even moe thinking abilities to our players.
